I now use EasiFlush Needlefree Stopcocks from BMS Critical Care, because they save me a considerable amount of time when setting-up and inserting central venous lines. Additionally, they are a much better solution than adding Needlefree ports to standard 3-way taps, particularly in terms of the space they take up around the patient’s neck. Moreover, they have the important safety benefit of being self-flushing so automatically clearing drug or blood residuals without exposing the system to air and potential bacterial contamination. Again this feature saves time and money by not having to manually flush the device after use.
